2003 The Year Of The SHEEP

"Chinese Numerology is the quickest and easiest method of character analysis ever devised." -Richard Webster (author/lecturer)

With it you can discover future life trends by looking at personal years, months and days.

  • "Is this a money year?"
  • "Are you having a spiritual-growth year?"
  • Would this be a good year to move - and if so, which direction?"

The ancient Chinese believed that the universe was based on mathematical principles; numbers, therefore, had great significance.

Chinese Numerology is based on the Lo Shu grid of numbers, discovered as markings on a tortoise shell by Chinese Emperor Fu Hsi, around 4,000 years ago.

This square is remarkable because every horizontal, vertical and diagonal row adds up to fifteen. Fifteen happens to be the number of days it takes for the new moon to become a full moon.

From this discovery evolved the I Ching, Feng Shui, Nine Star Ki, Geomancy, Chinese Astrology and Chinese Numerology.

The Lo Shu square also became the foundation of Taoism.

Nine Ki Astrology
Nine Ki is the name for Feng Shui astrology in Japan. Nine refers to the nine numbers in the Lo Shu square; Ki is the Japanese word for chi energy. The arrangement of the numbers in the Lo Shu with 5 in the centre is the standard Nine Ki chart. Each year the pattern changes and this is represented by one of the nine different arrangements of the numbers.

Numerology has developed independently in different parts of the world at around the same time. Over the years, people have modernized it and made it suitable for their way of life. Pythagoras is the most famous of these.

By using mathematical and methodological calculations, we can determine, from the birth date and from the name given at birth, an accurate character analysis, purpose in life and an indication of positive and negative times to make changes.

The Ki system also uses the five elements of Water, Earth, Fire, Wood and Metal, and each number also relates to a colour. \

Your Kua Number

Your Kua Number is derived from the year of your birth - dependent on being either male or female.

From it we can ascertain your best directions for sleeping, working and for anywhere else that you may spend a significant amount of time.

A complete Feng Shui analysis will use the Kua numbers of all occupants.

Feng Shui & Numerology
The Kua Number of your home can be determined by the direction that it faces (which is not necessarily the same direction as your front door - especially if your home is in an apartment!) Using the Kua Number of your home and your personal Kua Number (& that of your partner, if applicable) it is possible to determine the best placement of your bed, your desk, your favourite chair, etc.. With the addition of a geopathic stress analysis of your home - The Geomancer can optimize the chi that surrounds you - creating a positive environment created just for you!

Feng Shui and Your Street Number
Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese practice considering the environment to be a metaphor for everything that occurs in your life. Chinese numerology is based on homophonic principles. If a number sounds like a similar word that means something good, it is considered to be a good number. Numbers are either yin (even) or yang (odd). Yang numbers are considered more fortunate. A favourable address combines yin and yang; otherwise they seem to coincide with lifestyles that are heavily weighted toward one function e.g. possibly all work and no play. Zero represents nothing, perfection, completion and harmony.

PLEASE NOTE: Don't get hung up on having an 'unlucky' number. I consider the following to be in the same class as superstition....if you believe in it and it does positive things for you....Great! If it causes distress....ignore it and move on. THE GEOMANCER

ONE:
In Chinese it sounds like the word for "honour" and is considered lucky.

TWO:
Sounds similar to "sure". Two stands for "doubling up" (as in "double your happiness") and for symmetry. It is considered a good number.

THREE:
Sounds like "growth" or "alive" and is therefore lucky.

FOUR:
Sounds like "death", very unlucky unless combined with a favourable number.

FIVE:
Popular because it signifies balance and when combined with 2, 4, 6, or 8 it’s extremely auspicious because each pair of numbers is balanced.

SIX:
Similar to "wealth”, extremely popular.

SEVEN:
Sounds like Cantonese for "sure" - a very fortunate or lucky number.

EIGHT:
Sounds like "multiply" and represents good luck - a fertile number too, so if you desire many sons, live in a house with eight in the address.

NINE:
One of the luckiest as it sounds like the word for "longevity" and "long life".

TEN:
It implies completeness. It’s not however particularly auspicious because it is a yin number.

2003 The Year Of The SHEEP

February 1st 2003 to January 21st 2004

This is a smooth year following that of the energetic Horse. A year to relax and make peace with oneself as well as with others. Things progress slowly and we find ourselves more sentimental and emotional. The Sheep's influence will draw us closer to home and our families. We find ourselves caring more about those close to us and being more liberal with our time and money.

Patron of the arts, the Sheep will bring out all the creativeness in our natures. We will be productive and imaginative in artistic and aesthetic ventures. The pessimistic vibrations cast by him will also make us oversensitive and fretful of little problems. In our undertakings, we may become easily discouraged or hypercritical when things are not to our liking.

On the world scene, things will be tranquil and subdued. Take time off to cater to your whims and fancies. Make new friends and travel; invest in art and antiques. But keep a tight hand on your purse string, too, as there could be repercussions caused by overspending.

Hopefully, the Sheep's love of harmony and keen sense for coexisting with his enemies will preserve this year from many upheavals. The moderates and doves will be heard and heeded. Wars, international conflicts and mutual animosities usually end in the year of the Sheep.

The serenity of the Sheep's peaceful ways will slow things down a bit for the more intensely active signs, but after all, this is not a year for whirlwind activities--it is one for introspection.

The southeast area of the house is an unlucky area in 2003. Do not have any home improvement in this direction. The eastern area is not a lucky area, either. Do not let a weak or sick family member live in the bedroom in this direction. The southern area is an auspicious area and gives people career and money luck in 2003. The northern area is a good area for a study room.
